Who’s the Best NFL Team This Year?

It’s hard to say who the best NFL team is this year. There are a lot of good teams out there. The Patriots are always a good team, but they’re not the only team. There are a lot of good teams out there. It’s hard to say who the best is.

Who’s the Best NFL Team This Year?

The Contenders

It’s that time of the year again. Football season is in full swing and the race to the playoffs is heating up. There are a few teams that stand out as the best contenders for the title this year. Let’s take a look at who they are.

The New England Patriots

No team has been as dominant as the New England Patriots over the last two decades. The Pats have won six Super Bowls since 2001, and they show no signs of slowing down. Led by quarterback Tom Brady and head coach Bill Belichick, the Patriots always seem to find a way to win.

With Brady at the helm, the Pats have one of the best offenses in the NFL. They can score points in a hurry, and they have a defense that is good enough to keep them in any game. The Pats also have a great home-field advantage, which makes them tough to beat at Gillette Stadium.

If there is one team that can challenge the Patriots for supremacy in the AFC, it is the Kansas City Chiefs. The Chiefs have a high-powered offense led by quarterback Patrick Mahomes, and they also have a stingy defense. The Chiefs have home-field advantage throughout the playoffs, which means they will be tough to beat in Kansas City.

The Los Angeles Rams are another team to watch out for in the NFC. Led by head coach Sean McVay and quarterback Jared Goff, the Rams are one of the most explosive offenses in the NFL. The Rams also have a strong defense, and they will be tough to beat at home in Los Angeles.

The Pats, Chiefs, and Rams are all contenders for the Lombardi Trophy this year. It should be a great season of football!

The Green Bay Packers

The Green Bay Packers are a professional American football team based in Green Bay, Wisconsin. The Packers compete in the National Football League (NFL) as a member club of the league’s National Football Conference (NFC) North division. It is the third-oldest franchise in the NFL, dating back to 1919, and is the only non-profit, community-owned major league professional sports team in the United States. The Packers are also the last of the so-called “small town teams” which were common in the NFL during the league’s early days of operation.

The team was founded in August 1919 by Earl “Curly” Lambeau and George Whitney Calhoun. Lambeau solicited funds for uniforms from his employer, the Indian Packing Company. He was given $500 (equivalent to $6,600 in 2018) for uniforms and equipment, on the condition that the team be named for its sponsor. The Green Bay Packers have played in their original city longer than any other team in
the NFL.

The Dallas Cowboys

The Dallas Cowboys are a professional American football team based in the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex. The Cowboys compete in the National Football League (NFL) as a member club of the league’s National Football Conference (NFC) East division. They are one of the most successful teams in the history of the NFL, having made eight Super Bowl appearances, tied with the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Denver Broncos for second most Super Bowl appearances in history, behind only the New England Patriots. The Cowboys have won five of those Super Bowl appearances, tying them with their NFC rivals, the San Francisco 49ers; both are second behind only the Pittsburgh Steelers, who have won six Super Bowls. The Cowboys are one of only two NFL teams to record 20 straight winning seasons (1966–85), in which they missed the playoffs only twice (1974 and 1984).

In 2015, the Dallas Cowboys became the first sports team to be valued at $4 billion, making it the most valuable sports franchise in the world, according to Forbes. The Cowboys also generated $620 million in revenue in 2014, a record for a U.S. sports team. In 2018 they ranked as the seventh-most valuable sports franchise in the world, according to Forbes magazine with an estimated value at $5 billion.

The Underdogs

The New England Patriots have been the best team in the NFL for the past few years. But this year, there are a few teams that could take their place. The Philadelphia Eagles, the Pittsburgh Steelers, and the Los Angeles Rams all have a chance to be the best team in the NFL this year. Let’s take a look at why these teams could be the best this year.

The Detroit Lions

The Detroit Lions may not be the best team in the NFL this year, but they are certainly one of the most improved. After a disappointing 4-12 season in 2016, the Lions have bounced back with a 6-4 record so far in 2017. Led by quarterback Matthew Stafford, the Lions have one of the most explosive offenses in the league. Stafford is on pace to throw for over 5,000 yards this season, and his 18 touchdown passes are second only to Tom Brady’s 19.

On defense, the Lions have been solid, especially against the run. They are currently ranked sixth in the NFL in rushing defense, allowing just under 100 yards per game on the ground. If they can continue to play at this level, the Lions could be a tough team to beat in the second half of the season.

The Miami Dolphins

The Miami Dolphins are currently flying under the radar as far as NFL teams go. Despite their 5-4 record, they have looked like one of the best teams in the league over the past few weeks. They have a strong defense, led by linebacker Kiko Alonso, and a dynamic offense led by quarterback Ryan Tannehill. The Dolphins are a team to watch out for in the second half of the season.

The Buffalo Bills

The Buffalo Bills have not made the playoffs since 1999, the longest drought in the NFL. But this year, they are off to their best start in two decades. The Bills are 6-2, first place in the AFC East, and they have already matched their win total from last season.

Many experts thought the Bills would be good this year, but no one expected them to be this good. The team has been carried by its defense, which is ranked first in the NFL in points allowed per game. The offense has been good too, led by quarterback Josh Allen, who has thrown for 15 touchdown passes and just two interceptions.

The Bills still have a long way to go to end their playoff drought, but they are certainly trending in the right direction.

The Longshots

The odds are never in their favor- but that doesn’t stop them from trying. These teams have the best chance at rising to the top this season.

The Cleveland Browns

The Cleveland Browns are a professional American football team based in Cleveland, Ohio. The Browns compete in the National Football League (NFL) as a member club of the American Football Conference (AFC) North division. The Browns play their home games at FirstEnergy Stadium, which opened in 1999, with administrative offices and training facilities in Berea, Ohio. The Browns’ official colors are brown, orange, and white. They are unique among the 32 member franchises of the NFL in that they do not have a team mascot.

The franchise was founded in 1945 by businessman Arthur B. McBride and coach Paul Brown as a charter member of the All-America Football Conference (AAFC). The Browns dominated the AAFC, compiling a 47–4–3 record in the league’s four seasons and winning its championship in each of them. When the AAFC folded after the 1949 season, the Browns joined the National Football League along with three other AAFC teams; they were placed in the Western Conference.

Since joining the NFL in 1950, the Browns have had moderate success, qualifying for playoff berths 11 times and recording nine seasons with a winning record (as of 2019), but have never won an NFL championship or Super Bowl. In that time period, they have also won just one playoff game – a win over New England Patriots at home during a Wild Card playoff game following the 1994 season – resulting in an overall record of 1–13 (.071) in 14 playoff games. Between 1965 and 1995 variance between wins and losses was low: from 1965 to 1969 they averaged between 9–5 (.643) and 10–4 (.714). From 1970 to 1979 they hovered around 6–8 (.429), only posting two winning seasons during this period; 1974 (10–4), 1977 (9–5); while never more than two games into first or last place within their division over those ten years but 1976 when they were tied for first place mid-way through December with eventual Super Bowl champions Oakland Raiders before losing out on January 1st to them 34-20 at Oakland Coliseum to finish that 1976 season tied for second place with Kansas City Chiefs behind Oakland Raiders within AFC West division who went on to win that year’s AFC Championship game against Pittsburgh Steelers then Super Bowl XI against Minnesota Vikings. After going 4-12 (.250) during strike-shortened 1982 season bringing Bob Paige as their new head coach for 1983 regular season then finishing 6-10 (.375), from 1984 to 1988 under new head coach Marty Schottenheimer who took over for Paige during 1984 offseason following Paige being let go by owner Art Modell after going 4-12 (.250) during strike shortened 1982 regular season then going 6-10 (.375) his one full regular season as head coach of Browns thus starting another rebuilding project for Schottenheimer his first year as head coach then posted three consecutive winning seasons from 1985 to 1987 including playoff berths 1985 & 1986 while he coached Broncos to their first Super Bowl berth following 1987 regular season then eventually led Denver Broncos to Super Bowl XXI title victory over New York Giants thus becoming only 2nd NFL team after Miami Dolphins who went undefeated throughout 1972 regular season & playoffs en route their perfect 17-0 campaign including their Super Bowl VII victory over Washington Redskins as well as becoming only 3rd NFL/AFL team at time following Dolphins & Pittsburgh Steelers who also won back-to-back Super Bowls winning XV following 1978 regular season defeating Los Angeles Rams then XVI following 1979 defeating Dallas Cowboys en routetheir four Lombardi Trophies dynasty run while pausing Cleveland’s chance at clinching very rare back-to-back tripsSuper Bowls losing AFC Championship game played outdoors due infamous “Media Day” blizzard otherwise known forever infamously now simply called “The Drive” down field by Broncos quarterbacking legend John Elway driving 98 yards tying game with 37 seconds left on clock thus forcing overtime which he eventually ended up leading Broncos drive down field once again this time into endzone culminating score final touchdown walk off winner 2320 send elway broncos jubilant super bowl locker room forever cementing elway broncos among football fans greatest clutchest comebacks ever while continuing browns drought dating back nfl football championship title 1964 thus missing rare reprieve back into promised land super bowlBrowns

The San Francisco 49ers

The San Francisco 49ers are a professional American football team located in the San Francisco Bay Area. They compete in the National Football League as a member of the league’s National Football Conference West division. The team plays its home games at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, located 45 miles (72 km) southeast of San Francisco in the Silicon Valley. Since 1988, the 49ers have been headquartered in Santa Clara.

The New York Jets

The New York Jets are poised to have a great year. They have a strong defense, a good quarterback, and a solid running game. If they can stay healthy, they have a chance to make a run at the Super Bowl.
