2019 NFL Rookie of the Year
The 2019 NFL Rookie of the Year was announced on Saturday night, and the winner was Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield.
Mayfield, who was the first overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, had a phenomenal rookie season, throwing for 3,725 yards and 27 touchdowns. He also completed 310 of his 486 pass attempts (63.8 percent), and he led the Browns to a 7-8 record.
Mayfield is the third Browns quarterback to win Rookie of the Year, joining Bernie Kosar (1985) and Cody Kessler (2016). He’s also the first No. 1 overall pick to win the award since Cam Newton in 2011.
Kyler Murray – Arizona Cardinals
Kyler Murray – Arizona Cardinals Quarterback Kyler Murray was the first overall pick in the 2019 NFL draft, and he made an immediate impact for the Cardinals as a rookie. Murray threw for 3,722 yards and 20 touchdowns, while also rushing for 544 yards and four touchdowns. He was named the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year, becoming the first player to win that award and the Heisman Trophy in the same year.
Nick Bosa – San Francisco 49ers
Nick Bosa was drafted by the San Francisco 49ers with the second overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft. He was considered one of the best defensive prospects in years, and immediately made an impact on the 49ers defense. Bosa had 9 sacks and an interception in his rookie season, and was named Defensive Rookie of the Year.
Josh Jacobs – Oakland Raiders
Josh Jacobs (born January 11, 1999) is an American football running back for the Oakland Raiders of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Alabama, and was drafted by the Raiders in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft.
Gardner Minshew – Jacksonville Jaguars
Gardner Minshew, Jaguars quarterback, has been named the NFL’s Rookie of the Year. Minshew, who was drafted in the sixth round out of Washington State, took over as the Jaguars’ starter in Week 1 after Nick Foles suffered a season-ending collarbone injury.
