In addition to reality TV, Chyna also starred in a few adult films. In 2012, she released her first adult film, “Backdoor to Chyna.” She also released a second adult film in 2013 called “She Hulk XXX: An Axel Braun Parody.”

Acting

In 2008, Laurer briefly appeared in TNA Impact! as Kurt Angle’s ex-girlfriend/stalker. She made several more wrestling-related TV appearances over the next few years including guest spots on Celebrity Wife Swap and an episode ofbotched in which she attempted to get liposuction.

Laurer also appeared on Apprentice: Los Angeles, Celebrity Big Brother UK, Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew, and Who Wants to Be a Superhero?. In 2011, she was a contestant on VH1’s Celebreality show Famous Food.

Porn

After she left WWE, Joanie Laurer, better known as “Chyna,” pursued a career in the adult entertainment industry. She made multiple adult films, including ‘Backdoor to Chyna’ and ‘Red Light District.’ In addition to her work in porn, Chyna also had a brief stint on reality TV. Most notably, she appeared on VH1’s ‘The Surreal Life’ and E!’s ‘Botched.’

Tragically, on April 20th, 2016, Chyna was found dead in her home in Redondo Beach, California. A coroner later ruled her death was due to an accidental overdose of a combination of drugs. She was just 46 years old.

Chyna’s Death

It’s been almost two years since the world lost Joanie “Chyna” Laurer, and fans are still struggling to cope with her untimely passing. Chyna was found dead in her home on April 20, 2016, and the cause of death was later ruled as an accidental overdose.

Overdose

It is believed that Chyna died of an overdose of prescription drugs. Some reports say that she was taking a combination of pills, including Xanax and Ambien.

Depression

In 2001, Laurer left the WWE to pursue other endeavors. She made appearances in Playboy magazine, as well as adult films. In 2005, Laurer appeared on VH1’s celebrity reality show The Surreal Life. The following year, she participated in another reality series, Celebrity Fit Club 2. After being voted off the show, Laurer turned her attention to acting. In 2008, she had a small role in the film Illegal Aliens starring Anna Nicole Smith.

Over the next few years, Laurer made cameo appearances in several films and television shows including Bottoms Up, Glow Ropes: The Rise and Fall of a Bar Nightclub Empire, and Lingerie Bowl IX. In 2012, she appeared on an episode of Botched in an attempt to receive treatments for her implants.

In February 2016, E! aired a special entitled “The This Is Chyna Show”, which featured Laurer living with roommates in Los Angeles as she attempted to revitalize her career by rebranding herself as a webcam girl and model.

On April 20, 2016—eleven days before her death—Laurer launched her own beauty app called “Chynna Dolls”. The app was designed for users to virtually try on makeup and learn application techniques. When asked about the possibility of returning to WWE during an interview with Steve Austin on his podcast The Steve Austin Show released on May 1—two weeks before her death—Laurer said that while she would like to return to WWE in some capacity such as an ambassador or producer role alongside Triple H whom she said had been supportive of her since her departure from WWE in 2001 , it was unlikely given that current WWE CEO Vince McMahon still held a grudge against her for prior incidents including a domestic violence arrest and leaving WWE without notice in 2001 which led to McMahon banning her from ever appearing on WWE television again.

On May 17—five days before her death—Laurer held two meet-and-greet sessions at the Exxxotica New Jersey fan expo at the New Jersey Convention and Exposition Center in Edison where she signed autographs and took pictures with fans.

The Impact Of Chyna’s Death

It’s been almost two years since the world lost Chyna, and her death is still shrouded in mystery. Chyna was a larger-than-life personality and her presence is still felt in the wrestling world today. Her death had a profound impact on the people who loved her and those who watched her perform.

On The WWE

On April 20, 2016, professional wrestler Chyna passed away at the age of 45. Her death was met with an outpouring of grief from the wrestling community, as she was remembered as a revolutionary performer who helped change the landscape of WWE in the 1990s.

Chyna’s time in WWE was marked by controversy, as she was involved in a highly-publicized relationship with fellow wrestler Triple H, which ultimately led to her departure from the company. In the years after her WWE career ended, Chyna struggled with addiction and mental health issues, which were documented in her reality TV show, Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew.

While Chyna’s death was a tragedy, it also brought attention to the struggles that many former wrestlers face after their time in the spotlight. This has led to calls for more support for wrestlers who are struggling with addiction and mental health issues.

On The Women’s Revolution

The Women’s Revolution in WWE began in 2015, following the debut of NXT’s first ever all-female TakeOver event. The movement gained even more momentum the following year, when the main roster saw the arrival of Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch and Sasha Banks – dubbed “The Four Horsewomen of NXT” – as well as Bayley.

The Women’s Revolution truly kicked into high gear at WrestleMania 32, when the Divas Championship was retired and replaced with the Women’s Championship. In the main event of that show, Lynch, Banks and Flair made history as they competed in WWE’s first ever women’s Hell in a Cell match.

Since then, WWE has continued to break down gender barriers, with women competing in matches like the Royal Rumble and Money in the Bank for the first time ever. In 2018, Ronda Rousey made her long-awaited WWE debut at WrestleMania 34, and went on to capture the Raw Women’s Championship just six months later.

The women of WWE have come a long way since 2015, but there is one name that is sadly missing from that list: Chyna. She was one of the most groundbreaking female Superstars in WWE history, but her career came to a sudden and tragic end following her release from the company in 2001.
