Under the leadership of head coach Mark dobbins, the team has made seven consecutive trips to the NJCAA Division I Baseball World Series including a national runner-up finish in 2014. In addition, the team has won five conference championships and four Regional Championships during that same span.
And it’s not just on the field where the team has seen success. In 2015, the Weatherford College Baseball Team had an Overall grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 – tied for the highest GPA of any junior college baseball team in the nation.
So what is it that makes this program so successful?
There are a number of factors including:

-A focus on developing well-rounded student-athletes;

With a core group of returners and a talented group of newcomers, Johnson is confident his team can take another step forward in 2020. “We’ve got a good mix of guys back from last year’s team and some really talented new guys who are going to make an impact,” said Johnson. “I’m excited to see what this team can do.”

The Coyotes are coming off a 34-20 season in which they won the Region V tournament and advanced to the NJCAA Division I World Series It was the first time in program history that Weatherford had made it to the World Series and the team is looking to use that experience to take things to the next level.
“Our goal is always to be one of the final eight teams standing at the end of the year,” Daley said. “We fell just short last season, but we learned a lot from that experience. We’ve got a lot of guys back from that team, and they’re determined to get back to that point and finish the job.”
The Coyotes will certainly have their work cut out for them, as they’ll be up against some stiff competition in Region V once again. But with a strong core of returning players and some talented newcomers joining the fold, Weatherford will be in contention for another regional title and a spot in the World Series
