Washington Twp Baseball Tournament Kicks Off This Weekend

It’s that time of year again! The Washington Township Baseball Tournament is kicking off this weekend. Be sure to come out and support your local team!

Washington Township Baseball Tournament what to expect

This Saturday, June 1st, is the start of the annual Washington Township Baseball Tournament The tournament will run from Saturday to Monday, with games being played at both Meadowbrook and Columbia parks.

There will be a total of eight teams participating in the tournament, including four from Washington Township and two each from Spotswood and Lexington. The teams are split into two brackets, with the top seeds in each bracket receiving a bye in the first round.

The first round of games will begin at 9:00 AM on Saturday, with the second round following at 11:00 AM. The Championship game is scheduled for 6:00 PM on Monday evening.

All games are free to attend, and there will be food trucks and vendors present all weekend long. So come out and support your local businesses and enjoy some great baseball!

Washington Township Baseball Tournament history

This year marks the 50th anniversary of the annual Washington Township Baseball Tournament The tournament was created in 1970 by legendary coach, Joe Lisicky. The event has grown over the years, and now features teams from throughout South Jersey

The tournament is a double-elimination event, and games will be played at both Washington Township High School and Chestnut Ridge middle school The Championship game will be held on Sunday, May 17th at 1:00pm at Washington Township high school

Washington Township Baseball Tournament teams

The Washington Township Baseball Tournament will be taking place this weekend, with games kicking off on Friday at 4:00 pm. This year, there are four teams participating in the tournament- the Washington Township Minutemen, the Northshore Storm, the Oak Hill Red Sox and the Fairlawn Falcons. The tournament will be double elimination, and all games will be played at Washington Township high school The first game of the tournament will be between the Minutemen and the Storm, and the second game will be between the Red Sox and the Falcons.

Friday, May 11
4:00 pm- Minutemen vs. Storm
7:00 pm- Red Sox vs. Falcons

Saturday, May 12
10:00 am- Loser of Minutemen/Storm vs. Loser of Red Sox/Falcons
1:00 pm- Winner of Minutemen/Storm vs. Winner of Red Sox/Falcons
4:00 pm- Championship Game

Sunday, May 13 (if necessary)
1:00 pm- Championship game (if necessary)

Washington Township Baseball Tournament schedule

The Washington Township Baseball tournament will be held this Saturday, May 16th. There will be four teams playing in the double-elimination tournament, which starts at 10 a.m. The teams are as follows:

Washington Township: The host team, Washington Township is the top seed in the tournament. They will be playing in the first game at 10 a.m. against the fourth seed, Randolph.

Randolph: The fourth seed in the tournament, Randolph will be playing in the first game at 10 a.m. against the top seed, Washington Township.

Morris: The second seed in the tournament, Morris will be playing in the second game at 12 p.m. against the third seed, Mendham.

Mendham: The third seed in the tournament, Mendham will be playing in the second game at 12 p.m. against the second seed, Morris

Washington Township Baseball Tournament player spotlight

This weekend, the Washington Township baseball tournament kicks off. The tournament, which is in its fourth year, will feature four teams from around the area.

One team to keep an eye on is the defending champion, the South River Titans. The Titans are led by senior ace pitcher Jake Walters. Walters has been dominant on the mound this season, posting a 0.69 ERA with 75 strikeouts in just 49 innings pitched He also has a batting average of .333 and has hit two home runs

Another team to watch out for is the Washington Township Hawks. The Hawks are led by junior pitcher/shortstop Mikey Massaro. Massaro has been terrific both on the mound and at the plate this season. He has a 3-1 record with a 1.81 ERA and 39 strikeouts in 34 innings pitched. At the plate, he is batting .333 with two home runs and 19 RBIs.
