Prior to coming to VSU, Coach Corbin was an Assistant Coach at Norfolk State University and Concordia College

Assistant coaches for the VSU baseball team are Corey Johnson, Anthony Lee, and Ryan McClanahan. Coach Johnson is in his first season as an assistant coach after spending two seasons as a volunteer assistant coach at VSU. Prior to coming to VSU, he was a four-year starter and two-year captain for Norfolk State University’s Baseball team Anthony Lee is also in his first season as an assistant coach at VSU. He spent the previous two seasons as the hitting coach and recruiting coordinator for Lincoln Memorial University Ryan McClanahan is entering his third season as an assistant coach for the Trojans. Prior to coming to VSU, he spent two seasons as an assistant coach at Presbyterian College

The Virginia State University Trojans Baseball Team is on the rise. After a disappointing 2018 season, in which the team went 10-23, the Trojans rebounded in 2019 with a 21-14 record. The team is led by second-year Head Coach Ryan Williams who has instilled a new culture of winning.

The Trojans are led by senior ace pitcher Jordan Mitchell, who was named to the All-CIAA first team. Mitchell is joined by fellow senior Jalen Brown, who was named to the All-CIAA second team. The Trojans also have a strong group of young players including freshman phenom Hunter Martin.
