The Avery Point Baseball Team is looking to make some noise in the AAC this season. The team is led by senior captain Joe Smith who is batting .308 with four home runs and 11 RBIs. The team also features junior All-American pitcher Mike Garofalo, who has a 5-1 record with a 1.17 ERA. The team is currently 13-3 overall and 3-0 in the AAC.

The AAC

The American Athletic Conference (AAC) is comprised of ten schools that participate in NCAA Division I baseball. The conference was formed in 2013 with the split of the original Big East Conference and since then it has been home to some of the best teams in the country. The AAC is currently ranked as the second-best conference in college baseball behind only the SEC.

Avery Point is one of those teams. The Pointers are coming off a successful 2018 campaign in which they finished 32-22 overall and 16-13 in conference play They will look to build on that success this season with a strong mix of experienced players and talented newcomers.

Head coach Billy Horgan has high hopes for his team this season, and he believes they have what it takes to compete with anyone in the AAC.

The Pointers will open their 2019 season on February 15th with a three-game series against Niagara University at home.

The season starts on February 28th with a Home game against Southern Connecticut State University The team will then hit the road for a three-game series against Stony Brook University. They will return home on March 8th to take on Rutgers University New Brunswick. The team will then head out west for a five-game swing through California. They will take on UC Davis, Santa Clara University, and San Jose State University. The team will then return east for a six-game homestand. They will take on Sacred Art University Hartford, Fairleigh Dickinson University and Monmouth University The team will then close out the regular season with a three-game series on the road against Central Connecticut State University

The Avery Point Baseball team looks to make some noise in the AAC this season as they qualified for the playoffs. The team has had a great season so far and is excited to keep playing. The AAC is a tough conference and the playoffs will be a great test for this team.
